terms of service
last updated 12 june 2026
the deal
these terms cover your use of the holdup app and this website, both provided by traid co ("we", "us"). by using holdup or joining the waitlist, you agree to what's written here. if you don't agree, that's okay โ just don't use it.
what holdup is
holdup is a focus tool. it lets you block selected apps on your iphone until you finish a checklist you set for yourself, using apple's screen time framework. it is a self-directed friction tool, not a security product, a parental-control guarantee, or a medical or therapeutic service. you can bypass or disable it at any time, and you remain responsible for your own choices and your device.
using it responsibly
- use holdup for yourself and your own device.
- don't try to break, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or this site.
- don't rely on holdup as a fail-safe to block content that could harm you or others โ it is a nudge, not a lock-and-key.
the waitlist
joining the waitlist means you'd like us to email you about holdup. it isn't a promise of access, pricing, a release date, or any particular feature. we may change, delay, or scrap planned features as we build. see our privacy policy for how we handle the email you submit.
beta software
early versions of holdup (including any testflight beta) are provided as-is and may have bugs, change without notice, or stop working. don't depend on a beta for anything critical.
no warranty
holdup is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will change your habits. to the fullest extent allowed by law, traid co is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of holdup.
your content stays yours
the checklist items and app selections you create live on your device. they're yours. we don't claim any rights to them, and as described in the privacy policy, we don't receive them.
changes to these terms
we may update these terms as holdup grows. we'll post changes here and update the date at the top. continuing to use holdup after a change means you accept the updated terms.
